The Bible reveals a variety of roles, names and identities associated with Jesus the Christ. Many of us are familiar with Christ’s well-known titles: Son of God, The Good Shepherd, King of Kings. Others such as Stone, Door, and Mediator are not as well known or understood. What will we find by digging deep into the lesser names of Jesus the Christ?
Sociologists tell us our world is rapidly changing. We live hectic lives which leads us into cocooning. What is cocooning? It’s described as driving home, opening the garage door, walking into your home, turning on the TV, ordering dinner on-line to be delivered and never going outside the walls of your home. How many of us can say we really "know" our neighbors? This series will lead us into a deeper understanding of why we need to get outside our doors and know the people around us.
For over two years our nation’s focus has been on the presidential election. Time, energy, emotion…anger, scandal, name calling. There have been no holds barred and our nation has been engulfed in this one event. Now that the election is over, we are still looking at a nation divided. What can we, as Christian Americans, do to promote healing and help move our country forward? The election is over. Now What?
