UMW Action Day
Saturday, April 21, was UMW Action Day and several of our UMW ladies served at the United Methodist Cooperative Ministries (UMCM) Suncoast facility in Largo. UMCM Suncoast's outreach includes free legal assistance and citizenship classes and multi-language conversation classes. Participants in the Action Day enjoyed working together on needed hands-on projects such as cleaning and weeding outside, compiling detailed notebooks of instructions for volunteer mentors, punching and binding American Refugee Stories books for use in ESL English instruction, making baby bibs and flannel children's blankets, and writing recipe cards to accompany donated produce. Thank you, ladies, for "taking action!"
