Our students served on a mission trip to Orlando on July 10-13. They helped several local organizations.
Clean The World is an organization that helps to “recycle discarded soap and plastic bottle amenities, diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills and providing essential hygiene supplies to vulnerable communities worldwide. Our students set up 775 boxes. Then packaged 15,000 bars of soap that had been sanitized and recycled to be sent to the Philippines.
United Against Poverty is dedicated to helping lift up the lives of families in need through enrichment programs and services like a member grocery program, crisis care, transformative education, employment training and more. Our students helped stock the shelves at the food assistance grocery store where families who are living in the 200% or below Federal Poverty Level can select food and household items they need.
Students also sorted clothes and helped fill the racks at The Hope Center Thrift Store. This thrift store supports the outreach of The Hope Center, which includes a food pantry, job placement and immigration services.
In addition to serving, students made time to have some fun at Disney Springs and Main Event.
Of course they also worshipped together, spent time in scripture and lifted each other up with a compliment circle. You can find more pictures of the trip on our Student Ministry Facebook.
Thank you, God, for this meaningful opportunity to serve and grow! Thanks to all the students who have a heart to serve! Thanks to our student ministry team members who make student trips like this possible! And last but not least, thanks for your mission envelope donations that helped make this trip more affordable for all who wanted to serve!
