This September we're heading to the beach to publicly celebrate and declare that we have decided to follow Jesus! Now is the perfect time to accept God's grace and become a new person in Christ or to recommit yourself to God and remember your baptism!

Whether you plan to be baptized or remember your baptism, or you just want to support and celebrate others being baptized, we invite you to join us for this joyful day!
What makes a beach baptism different?
There are many ways of being baptized, sprinkling water, pouring, submersion… Baptism is not about what we do, but about what God does and all forms of baptism include the same measure of God's grace. So why are we baptizing on the beach? By joining together and being baptized at the beach we are taking our faith public! We want everyone to know about our God and our commitment to Jesus!
How does baptism at the beach work?
Being baptized at the beach involves being submerged fully under the water with the support of the pastors and their helpers.
Can I be re-baptized if I've been baptized before?
In the United Methodist Church, we only baptize one time because we don't believe that God ever needs a "redo." However, if you would like to recommit yourself to Christ, we invite you to be submerged and remember your baptism with us on the beach.
I don't want to be baptized, can I still be part of the event?
Yes! This to be a church-wide celebration! If you don't want to be baptized, you can still celebrate with those who are being baptized, and join us for a meal and worship on the beach.
GETTING TO SAND KEY BEACH
Sand Key Beach is located at 1060 Gulf Boulevard. Parking is $5 so we encourage carpooling.
CHURCH BUS: There will be about 15-20 seats available on the bus with the Student Ministry on a first come, first served basis. Please email or call the church office if you need a seat on the bus: 584-8165. The bus will leave from the front of the Christian Life Enrichment Center at 5:30 pm.
WHERE TO PARK
When you enter the park on Gulf Boulevard turn left and continue left. Park near the first set of restrooms in the first or second lot. We plan to have people to help direct you to where we are on the beach, and help you carry your things if needed.
WHAT TO BRING
- Camp or lawn chairs
- Dish for the potluck and serving utensil
- A towel (needed if you are going in the water)
WHAT TO WEAR
If you're being baptized or remembering your baptism we will provide a tshirt for you to wear in the water. Wear clothes that can get wet. Bring a change of clothes if you need one.
